LORETTA STATS

From 1997 to 2002, Loretta Statts pursued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, specializing in Painting & Graphics and Public Art under the guidance of Prof. Hubert Schmalix. In 2002, she successfully completed her degree with honors.

Her artistic approach is characterized by a partly objective, partly abstract calculation. In her paintings, the content is distorted and shifted in a way that places the viewer in virtual experiential spaces. Familiar perspectives no longer apply, yet the observer is almost compelled to accept their new form as determined by an external force.

In 2011, Loretta Statts was awarded the Koschatzky Art Prize, with her innovative approach to image composition earning her the first prize.
