On the occasion of the 100 year Bauhaus anniversary, Suppan Fine Arts presents a solo show of Bauhaus artist and designer Herbert Bayer. He is considered one of the most important and most important protagonists of the Bauhaus movement. His work features a wide range of painting, sculpture, photography, typography and graphic art all the way to Exhibition design and architecture design. At the Dependance in Vienna a selection of his paintings, photography and graphics from the year 1928, when Herbert Bayer was still active at the Bauhaus in Dessau, until 1970, here with "Arab Village ". There is an emphasis on a collection of surreal - geometric works from the series Leaves and Windows of 1943, in which he demonstrates his architectural skills, as well the sculpture "Primary Landscape - A Fountain in Ten Parts" from the year 1967, which in the Oeuvre of the artist is unique. This bronze urban landscape with ten Gargoyles was part of an extensive landscape project commissioned by the Atlantic Richfield Co. for public space in Los Angeles, which never came to fruition.The ingenuity of this Austrian-American artist is almost inexhaustible, painting was for him a central medium and field of experimentation. His career could He continued with great success after his emigration to the United States in 1938, leaving behind in his comprehensive oeuvre of significant objects in public space, including in Aspen and Denver Colorado as well as in Los Angeles and Mexico City.
