Our Gallery

SUPPAN FINE ARTS, established in 1974, specializes in a selection of Modern, Post-War- and Contemporary artists. The emphasis of the gallery program is on modernists such as Herbert Bayer, Hugo Puck Dachinger, Auguste Herbin, Oskar Kokoschka, Wolfgang Paalen, Rudolf Ray or Egon Schiele, and internationally renowned post-war and contemporary artists, including Georg Baselitz, Michael Craig-Martin, Hildegard Joos, Hermann Nitsch, Sigmar Polke, Arnulf Rainer, Antoni Tápies, Günther Uecker or Victor Vasarely, but also younger generation artists like Christian Hutzinger and Georg Salner.

Since 1974, the gallery has organized over 200 solo and group exhibitions within their three gallery premises, with major retrospectives and thematic exhibitions, but also organized a number of exhibition projects at other venues, including the Belvedere 21 Museum, Vienna; Albertina Museum, Vienna; Künstlerhaus, Vienna; Szépművészeti Múzeum, Budapest; Austrian Cultural Forum, New York; Austrian Cultural Forum, London and more.

With Edition Suppan Fine Arts, its in-house publisher, over 50 monographs, catalogue raisonnés as well as art historically compiled catalogs have already been released. Other key activities of the gallery are management of artist estates and the cooperation with major art institutions, museum and collections. Since the gallery’s founding year, it has cooperated with and loaned works to museums and collectors all over the world to help realize important exhibitions.

A crucial part of the gallery has always been the regeneration of artist's, for example with exhibitions and publications of artists including the Austrian-American Herbert Bayer, one of the most important protagonists of the Bauhaus movement, or the Austrian-British Hugo Puck Dachinger, who played a pioneering role in exile art or Hildegard Joos, the grande dame of consructivism in Austria.

We are specialized in:
• Exhibition projects and accompanying publications (see exhibitions and publications)
• Creation of catalogue raisonnés & and artist monographs (see publications)
• Management of artist estates and artist archives
• Creation of valuables and certificates of authenticity

We are looking for high-quality works from the era of modernism, post-war & contemporary art for purchase or commission-selling.
